Two Michelin star restaurant in the pretty neighbourhood of Mayfair. The dining room is gorgeous. The service is excellent – formal without being too snooty. And the food is faultless.
First off, the dark & classy lobby
That gorgeous dining room
The exquisite tableware
Now that we have feasted our eyes, let’s eat!
Amuse bouche of tuile cigars: salted cod, chorizo, and anchovies with onions
Of course they do amazing bread *sigh*
Warm crusty loaf with two types of butter: plain and chilli infused
Lobster tortellini with chestnut, salsify, tarragon, and lemon
Foie gras tart with celeriac, pear, and lemon thyme
Confit cod, with black pudding, Jerusalem artichoke, and sorrel
Duck, encrusted with mixed spices and buckwheat, with beetroot and blueberry
For pre-dessert: bread ice cream with blueberry jam and olive oil
It was so delicious my hubby was tempted to lick the cup clean
but he didn’t
I stopped him
with coffee ice cream & tonka bean
Raspberries with greek yoghurt & lemongrass ice cream
Petit fours to finish
…even though we’re stuffed to the brim at this point
(damn you delicious bread)
Coffee & tea to round off the night
And the cutest parcels to take home
These canelé beauties are significantly better than the ones I’ve tried in Bordeaux.
Maybe I didn’t try the best ones in Bordeaux.
Maybe these guys genuinely make it better.
Whatever, I loved this
